The Federal Government of Canada has passed this years budget that includes $400 million in renewed funding for the popular ecoENERGY Retrofit Program. The Ministry of Natural Resources Canada made the formal announcment of the programs return July 13th. The program is fully up and running so contact us today to arrange for your energy evalution!
The ecoENERGY Retrofit Program provides financial assistance and education to homeowners allowing them to make smart energy retrofit decisions that will result in significant energy savings, more comfortable living spaces and a cleaner environment. To date approximately 1 in 20 homeowners in Canada have participated in this program.
To qualify for the program all participants are required to have a pre-retrofit evaluation BEFORE starting renovations. A Certified Energy Advisor will perform a energy evaluation on your home, from the basement to the attic, including a blower door test to measure the air tightness of your home and help locate air leakage sites. Approximately 2 weeks after your evaluation you will receive a home owners report with a list of recommended measures and your homes energuide label.
You select the improvements you wish to make. After completing the improvements have your Energy Advisor return to complete a Post Retrofit Evaluation. During the Post evaluation, your advisor will make note of the improvements and completes a new blower door test. The advisor will also complete a grant application form on your behalf. The Energy Advisor will complete the electronic file and send it to the service organization who forwards the file to NRCan.
